Method
Removal and Refit in Istanbul
Removal dissolves or opens each bond so it comes away without taking your hair with it. A refit moves the same extensions back up to the root as your hair grows. Most damage blamed on extensions actually happens during a rushed removal.
Also sold as extension removal, extension maintenance. Different salons use different names for the same method.

Why removal is the part that matters
Every method has a correct removal: solvent for tape and keratin, pliers for rings, unpicking for wefts. Every one of them takes time. The damage stories you read almost always describe someone who pulled instead of dissolved, or who left the bonds in for six months until they matted at the root.
We remove work fitted elsewhere
You do not have to have had them fitted here. Send a photo of your roots in daylight before you come and we will tell you what method it looks like, roughly how long it will take and what it will cost. If we cannot tell from the photo we will say that too.
The refit conversation
At a refit we look at the condition of the hair as well as the bonds. Sometimes the honest answer is that the ends are finished and it is time for new hair. Sometimes it is that your own hair needs a break for a few months. We say both.
Who this is not for
Nobody. If your extensions need to come out, they need to come out properly.
Aftercare
- Expect some shedding right after removal, that is hair that was held in place and would have fallen anyway.
- A protein and moisture treatment the same day helps the roots recover.
- If you are taking a break, give it at least a few weeks before refitting.
Removal and Refit, common questions
Can you remove extensions fitted at another salon?
Yes. Send a photo of your roots in daylight first and we will tell you what is involved before you travel.
Will my hair fall out when the extensions come out?
You will see shedding, and it looks alarming. Most of it is hair that had already reached the end of its cycle and was held in place by the bond instead of falling naturally. Real loss comes from tension and bad removal, not from removal itself.
How often do extensions need a refit?
Tape every 6 to 8 weeks, ghost every 2 to 3 months, micro ring, nano ring and keratin every 3 to 4 months, weft every 6 to 10 weeks.
